How to Store Inoculants

Whether you just received your inoculant, or if you’re storing extra inoculant from last year, here are optimum storage conditions for rhizobium inoculant viability.

Inoculants should be kept in a temperature-controlled environment and protected from fluctuating temperatures.

During extreme cold temps, inoculants are susceptible to freeze/thaw cycles, which are detrimental to rhizobium viability.

 IMPORTANT STORAGE REMINDERS FOR INOCULANTS

  • Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight

  • Store product between 40 and 77 degrees F

  • Open package only when ready to use

  • Use before expiration date

  • Do not store in an area which is to be fumigated

  • Always read and follow instructions
