Remembering Kevin Oihus

UAS is deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend, Kevin Oihus. Kevin worked as a sales representative for Unified Ag Solutions for the past 7.5 years, where he graced us with his knowledge, wit and humor. Below are a few words from our owners.

“I met Kevin 10 years ago, when he worked for Norwood Sales. He was our contact for all things Convey-All equipment. We all enjoyed working with him, and when we realized we needed a northern sales rep, we reached out to Kevin. He knew lots about equipment, and he enjoyed the challenges that came with it, like putting together a complicated bulk site to simplify a customer’s treating system. He also took a great deal of interest in learning all he could about seed treatments and inoculants—and was a wonderful partner as we grew together in the industry.

Kevin and I grew to be very close and talk almost every day—about projects, prices, new products, or even his labor of love: his lake house. He was always interesting to talk to and had great jokes. He truly became part of the family, and we all viewed him as such. We will miss him dearly.”

“In my experience with Kevin, he loved equipment, and was a master at finding simple solutions to what seemed like very complex problems on treater sites. We would talk for hours to find a solution, and it seemed like we always did. He was quick with a life lesson, or a lesson in treater knowledge. Kevin taught Ross and myself a lot by asking us leading questions about equipment, treating rates, and other helpful insights—he wouldn’t ask a question he didn’t already know the answer to. It was his way of making us learn by thinking critically and helping us grow.

When I would travel with him, we would always try to find a local spot to eat. The one thing that was always the deciding factor on where to go was if they had his go-to for a drink: a bottle of Sam Adams and a shot of Jameson whiskey. Kevin truly became part of the family and a dear friend. We will miss him deeply.”

“I quickly got to know Kevin’s passion for equipment. When I joined UAS in 2015, I spoke with Kevin almost every day about how his equipment sites were “clear as mud.” He enjoyed giving his customers the best deal—which sometimes meant creating a site with 1,000 different parts from 1,000 different vendors. We would joke that Kevin was the problem child when it came to invoicing and keeping track of all he did. But we loved him for that. He was excellent at what he did, and we truly enjoyed working together—he became part of the family.

Kevin was a dear friend. We already miss his daily conversations, lessons and jokes. He will be missed dearly.”

Our prayers are with Kevin’s family.
